Our mission is deeply ambitious

We will achieve mainstream recognition for NTOs and hidden roles, because this will make the conduct of research more equitable and more effective.

Overturning decades of socialised research culture is not easy, but we have already demonstrated significant impact from a campaign staffed by volunteers, which proves the effectiveness of our grassroots, collaborative approach. The launch of the E-TIE project, thanks to financial support from Research England, will have a transformational effect on the impact of the Hidden REF. This will accelerate and expand our activities, allow us to engage more broadly across the UK and more deeply with organisations, whilst also working more closely with the REF team to support their goals.
