The Hidden REF campaigning for a research culture that recognises and rewards the full diversity of contributions to research and the many roles that make research possible. We need your help to make that change happen. Whether you have five minutes to spare or want to get more involved, there are plenty of ways to contribute.

Spread the word

One of the simplest ways to support the Hidden REF is to help more people hear about our work. You can share our campaign with colleagues, raise it at meetings, or invite us to speak at your organisation. You can also follow us on LinkedIn and Bluesky, and help amplify our announcements.

You can talk about any aspect of our work, such as our Competition to recognise all research, our Festival to build the community, our research and evidence collection and our NTO workshops.

Volunteer your time and expertise

The Hidden REF brings together people who want to improve research culture, and there’s plenty of work to do.

Our volunteers contribute in many ways, from helping to organise the Festival of Hidden REF to researching how different contributions are recognised in research assessment. We also welcome help with communications, design, publicity, website development and data analysis.

You don’t need to be an expert in research assessment to make a difference. If you have skills, experience or ideas that could help us, we’d love to hear from you.
